<\/p>\nA newborn who weighed only 535 grams\u2014less than a loaf of bread\u2014has at last arrived home and is sleeping in her own room.<\/p>\n
Initially, Lauren Ormston’s pregnancy went without a hitch. Even the scan at 20 weeks came back clean, and she anticipated giving birth on July 1st.<\/p>\n
However, on March 4, she started experiencing significant abdominal pain, and when she visited a hospital in Surrey, England, she discovered she was going into early labor.<\/p>\n

She underwent quick induction, and two hours later delivered baby Isla, who weighed only 1.18 lb. Due to the baby’s small stature, <\/p>\n
doctors informed the 27-year-old and her fiance that she had a 10% chance of surviving. Isla could only be held by Laura for a brief period of time before being placed on a ventilator.<\/p>\n
\u2018I lived each day not knowing if she would survive,\u2019 the first-time mother reflected.
\nA level two brain bleed and a heart hole were later discovered in baby Isla.<\/p>\n
Lauren, from Hartley Wintney, Hampshire, said to SWNS news, \u2018She looked so small and fragile, like she <\/p>\n
would snap at the slightest bit of movement.\u2019 Although I knew my newborn girl was a warrior, I was incredibly anxious.<\/p>\n
Mother and daughter eventually shared their first embrace since the baby’s birth at six weeks. Her tiny hand was no larger than my husband’s pinky finger’s tip.<\/p>\n
It seemed as though she wouldn’t survive, so to see her now is miraculous. Isla was ultimately released from the hospital in July after spending four months there and weighed 10 lbs. 8 oz.<\/p>\n

Although it was a \u2018rollercoaster,\u2019 Lauren is now ecstatic that Isla is back at her house and content.<\/p>\n
\u2018I can’t believe I was taken to the hospital two weeks after our scan at 20 weeks came back normal. It’s crucial to pay attention to such pains and to follow your instincts.<\/p>\n
\u2018Isla is a joy to be around, and we are overjoyed to have a daughter right now.<\/p>\n
