The name of Croatian striker Ante Rebic became widely known after the team participated in the 2018 World Cup held in Russia. <\/p>\n

Rebic participated in six matches. He was remembered for the goal he scored against the Argentine national team.<\/p>\n

True, the Croatians lost in the championship final. But in Zagreb, after returning to the homeland, the citizens of the country met the players as winners. <\/p>\n

More than half a million people expressed their support and gratitude to the athletes for their desire to win.<\/p>\n

Lovlo Shandik, a friend of attacker Rebi\u0107, told reporters that Ante paid the loans taken by his fellow <\/p>\n

villagers from his own pocket.Immediately paid for all 500 residents of his native village of Imotski.<\/p>\n

Rebic was born and raised in a small village near the city of Split. At the age of 19, he left his homeland to play in the Italian \u2018Fiorentina\u2019.<\/p>\n

He always performed well. For example, he scored a goal in the 2017-2018 German Cup. It was Rebi\u0107 who scored <\/p>\n

a double in the match against \u2018Bavaria\u2019. This gave his team a sensational victory, the first in 30 years.<\/p>\n

But, becoming a successful athlete and a popular person, Ante did not forget his roots.
