<\/p>\nFor six months, a parent from California commuted 16 miles each way on his bike to and from work. But with a new pair of wheels, his life is much simpler now.<\/p>\n
Isaac Taylor’s family’s vehicle was entirely damaged in an accident. He began riding his bike every day, eight miles each way, after that.<\/p>\n
After working a night shift, Taylor would ride home and then walk his children to school.<\/p>\n
\u2018I had just finished a full 10-hour graveyard shift when it happened. It was really difficult,\u2019 he stated.<\/p>\n
However, Taylor realized that he had to do it because he is the sole parent of six children and struggles to provide for his enormous family.<\/p>\n

\u2018I’ve experienced a lot. So, he explained, “trouble is just a part of getting to the next big thing.<\/p>\n
Taylor received a car last Thursday as a result of the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides Program, <\/p>\n
the Sacramento-based nonprofit Family Promise, and support from Caliber Collision and Travelers Insurance.<\/p>\n
He claimed to have \u2018cried like a baby.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018How was I able to think I deserved it? I am aware that there are others who experience harsher circumstances than I do. \u2018How did I get so lucky?\u2019 He shouted.<\/p>\n

But Taylor has encountered difficulty previously. He battled being homeless for a very long period. Fortunately, he is doing fine.<\/p>\n
The Recycled Rides initiative has donated more than 3,000 cars to those in need since it began in 2007.<\/p>\n
