When a 6-year-old discovered she had lost a tooth while flying, she was frantic to find it again.<\/p>\n

A passing captain noticed this and moved in to explain the issue in writing to the Tooth Fairy while wearing his jacket, cap, and epaulets.<\/p>\n

Lena and Laura Larmon were nearing the conclusion of a protracted journey when they encountered a 36-hour delay in New York <\/p>\n

on their trip from Norway to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in South Carolina. <\/p>\n

Once the 6-year-old Lena learned she had lost a tooth at the baggage claim, she must have thought that finally getting off the plane was paradise.<\/p>\n

\u2018Security was closed as we attempted to walk back to the plane. Lena was \u2018crying and very emotional\u2019 when she learned that, <\/p>\n

without the tooth to place under her pillow, there would be no accompanying visit from the Tooth Fairy, according to her mother Laura, who told Good Morning America that it was 2 a.m.<\/p>\n

When United Airlines Captain Josh Duchow noticed Lena’s plight, he intervened to offer assistance. There would be little question that a brief <\/p>\n

written explanation from \u2018Captain Josh\u2019 would be an acceptable receipt for the Tooth Fairy’s records given his captain’s bearing and official attire.<\/p>\n

The flight’s pilot, Duchow, wrote: \u2018Dear Tooth Fairy, Lena had a tooth fall out on her flight to Greenville.\u2019 Instead of her tooth, kindly accept this note.<\/p>\n

Later, Mother Laura posted the tale on Facebook and Instagram as a diversion from \u2018a world of bad airline stories.\u2019<\/p>\n

In response to Duchow’s remarks, United Airlines issued a statement that read: \u2018We’re proud to see moments like this <\/p>\n

that underscore our commitment to going above and beyond for our customers and creating an airline where Good Leads the Way.\u2019<\/p>\n
