In video that is certain to move hearts everywhere, a teenage girl was left obviously stunned after learning that she had been named her school’s homecoming queen.<\/p>\n

Emma Wright reportedly received the honor from the East Forsyth High School students in North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Nearly a dozen girls competed for the title of homecoming queen, including the 18-year-old. Together, <\/p>\n

they waited for the big news on the school’s football field, and when it finally arrived, the scene was just as emotional as you might expect.<\/p>\n

Emma Wright is well-liked by all reports among her East Forsyth High School peers. Although the 18-year-old <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

has Down syndrome, she has never allowed that stop her from being a cheery, amiable presence in the facility’s hallways.<\/p>\n

Even so, she was unable to conceal her shock when she was given the title of this year’s homecoming queen at her school.<\/p>\n

According to sources, Emma competed with several other girls for the prestigious honor while her father watched the announcement of the results from the school’s student body next to her.<\/p>\n

Currently available online is video of the incident that captures the precise moment Emma heard her name shouted.<\/p>\n

The adolescent, who also cheers for her school, immediately started crying. She exclaimed, \u2018So amazing,\u2019to WXII12.\u2019I immediately started crying as soon as they read out my name.\u2019<\/p>\n

Brad Wright, Emma’s father, was visibly moved as well.He stated, \u2018We had no notion, it’s something you prepare for.<\/p>\n

\u2018Just getting dressed, getting all the things done, and we are so thankful to be a part of the East Forsyth family. We are also so excited for Emma and the opportunity they gave her tonight.\u2019<\/p>\n

She is known as our dancer. She is adored by all of the students, as you can see her dancing in the cafeteria and halls, according to Hall.<\/p>\n

We strive to promote it here. Regardless of your origin or how you lived before being here, everyone is included and their voice counts.<\/p>\n

\u2018When you come here, you become family. And tonight was a prime illustration of how much we value the contributions of all of our students.<\/p>\n

The announcement of the homecoming queen coincided with October being Down Syndrome Awareness Month.<\/p>\n

According to rumors, Emma hopes to one day own a bakery and ice cream parlor. After finishing the next year, she plans to enroll at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.<\/p>\n
