<\/p>\nBentley Boyers, a two-year-old Jackson, Michigan resident, was born with a cleft lip, a congenital condition marked by a <\/p>\n
split aperture in the upper lip. According to his parents, he has had difficulty receiving the necessary surgery to repair his lip.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
His mother Ashley told WILX, \u2018It was a process. We had to sit him up and feed him and hold his lip together in order for him to eat.\u2019<\/p>\n
However, an incredible thing occurred last week: Brandon, Bentley’s father, visited a shelter with the <\/p>\n
intention of adopting chickens, but what he discovered was a two-month-old rescue dog with a cleft palate.<\/p>\n
He called his wife, who was equally astounded, and they both agreed that Bentley needed the dog.<\/p>\n
It’s obvious that Bentley is ecstatic about his new dog. Pictures of him with the puppy show him smilingly caressing and kissing it after they first met.<\/p>\n
The shelter claims that since they don’t often encounter dogs with cleft lips, it’s an unlikely miracle and they were simply fortunate to be there when it happened.<\/p>\n
They recognize that Bentley will gain a great deal from owning a dog that also has the same congenital condition. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
He will have a dog that is sympathetic to his situation, but he still requires bone grafting surgery to fix his lip.<\/p>\n
Ashley clarified, \u2018It means a lot to see him have something in common with a puppy because he can grow up and understand that he and his puppy both have something in common.\u2019<\/p>\n
In a similar vein, the puppy will have a kind owner who will adore her no matter how she looks.<\/p>\n

She truly isn’t being hindered by her impairment, and as she develops, more information will be available to them to determine whether <\/p>\n
anything has changed in relation to it. However, director of animal services Lydia Sattler told WILX that \u2018she’s really doing well.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018She may not be moving as quickly as a typical dog, but she does look a little different.\u2019<\/p>\n
