This school does a great job preparing its year 13 students for the real world. The year 12 students at Bethlehem College performed a haka in 2019 to bid the year 13 leavers farewell. <\/p>\n

The haka, \u2018Tika tonu,\u2019 is about challenge, difficulty, perseverance, and achievement. The year 13 departing students then reply with the school haka \u2018T\u016b hikitia r\u0101.\u2019<\/p>\n

In New Zealand, hakas are worn on a variety of occasions and festivals. The haka is an essential Maori tradition that was first developed in New Zealand. It might be incorporated into a burial rite, a wedding celebration, or a farewell show.<\/p>\n
