Every year in his front yard, a Massachusetts architect creates spectacular Halloween displays, gaining a local legend for his terrifying creations.<\/p>\n

Tom Saltsman has continued the tradition for the previous eight years, after creating an 80’s horror-themed <\/p>\n

sculpture for a party that so delighted his friends and neighbors that he promised to do it every year.<\/p>\n

His home in Marblehead has become a staging area for a gigantic dragon, an ethereal skeletal spirit, a spaceship, a pirate’s ghost ship, and a roaring King Kong.<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old prepares the installations for the scary season up to two months in advance and enlists friends and family to help finish them.<\/p>\n

His garage was transformed into an Egyptian tomb for his most recent project, a 22-foot-tall Egyptian god, in 2022. <\/p>\n

Together with three friends, his wife Brooke, an architect, assisted in painting all of the hieroglyphics.<\/p>\n

He can construct the majority of the parts for less than $200 after scrounging leftover parts from his place of employment; <\/p>\n

the resources are primarily plywood, trash bags, and different kinds of foam. (Watch the video located at the bottom.)<\/p>\n

His fame has grown to the point where his daughter Parker is acknowledged for her father’s endeavors.<\/p>\n

\u2018My dad made his first sculpture when he was 17 years old, so I’m definitely known for it,\u2019 the 25-year-old remarked.<\/p>\n

\u2018It began the moment I was born. As dad used to create these incredibly intricate cakes for my birthday, I wasn’t shocked to see the sculptures.<\/p>\n

Tom is modest about his work and sees it more as a pastime or a means of making connections with people than as a means of achieving celebrity.<\/p>\n

He described it as \u2018just kind of a fun outlet for artistic purposes.\u2019 \u2018The community is the main audience for it.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018The installations must appear to have only recently been made. The dragon and the spaceship appeared to have just touched down on my home.<\/p>\n

\u2018I have really patient neighbors, and people really enjoy it.\u2019<\/p>\n
