A Japanese guy has successfully finished his favorite activity, which is sailing nonstop across the Pacific Ocean, once more.<\/p>\n

The unstoppable Kenichi Horie certainly didn’t anticipate pulling off the same ruse 60 years after he accomplished it once previously at the age of 23. However, that’s simply his nature.<\/p>\n

setting out on March 27 with his 2,182 lb (990 kg), 19-foot (six-meter) Suntry Mermaid III yacht.<\/p>\n

After two months of solo sailing across the greatest ocean in the world, Horie arrived at 2:39 a.m. local time on the Kii Peninsula in western Japan.<\/p>\n

Horie didn’t make any port calls, but he nevertheless made a daily check-in call to his family.<\/p>\n

According to The Guardian, he is scheduled to land in Cape Hinomisaki on Saturday. Subsequently, <\/p>\n

he will be transported back to his home port to participate in an arrival ceremony in Nishinomiya city, located in the Hyogo prefecture.<\/p>\n

Since this is not his first trans-Pacific trip, it is not his first prize ceremony. At the age of 23, Horie, a salesman for secondhand auto parts, <\/p>\n

made history by becoming the first person to cross the Pacific without assistance. Throughout the journey, <\/p>\n

he only consumed canned food and rice, and he only had one radio for communication\u2014all while traveling on a plywood ship, no less.<\/p>\n

Horie stated, \u2018I just wanted to take on the challenge\u2014I had the confidence that I would make it.\u2019<\/p>\n

94 days later, he crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, and since he had no money or passport, he was taken into custody right away. <\/p>\n

However, upon hearing about what he had done, Mayor George Christopher granted Horie an honorary visa, catapulting him into the status of a minor superstar.<\/p>\n
