George Clooney probably had no idea that the lady who had captured his heart would also take center stage when he gave up his status as an eligible bachelor to play the starring role in Amal’s life.<\/p>\n

After nearly a decade of marriage, the Oscar-winning actor says he feels \u2018embarrassed\u2019 when his spouse shows him pictures from the red carpet.<\/p>\n

George Clooney, 62, who was formerly regarded as Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor, was utterly enamored with Amal Alamuddin, 45, when they first met in 2013.<\/p>\n

\u2018I was obviously done when Amal walked into the room,\u2019 Clooney remarked. After just six months of dating, <\/p>\n

Clooney proposed to Amal, a British-Lebanese human rights lawyer who is both gorgeous and intelligent.<\/p>\n

Clooney remembers, \u2018Literally, I dropped it on her, and she just kept saying, ‘Oh, my God,’ and ‘Wow!’\u2019when he proposed to her. <\/p>\n

We sat there for a while until I finally said, \u2018Listen, I’m 52 years old, and I’ve been on my knee for about 28 minutes. <\/p>\n

If I don’t get an answer from this, I’m going to throw out my hip.\u2019 I might not be able to get back up on my feet!\u2019<\/p>\n

The couple wed in September 2014 at Venice, Italy’s opulent Aman Canal Grande hotel, in front of a star-studded guest list that included Bono, Matt Damon, and Bill Murray.<\/p>\n

The Boys in the Boat, which he both stars in and directs, in mid-December with his 45-year-old wife Amal.<\/p>\n

Amal looked stunning on the red carpet in a stunning yellow Atelier Versace gown accessorized with Cartier jewelry as she posed for pictures with her charming spouse.<\/p>\n

Clooney, meanwhile, looked equally stunning in a black suit with a button-down shirt in navy blue below.<\/p>\n

Clooney jokes with Entertainment Tonight that he gets “slighted” by the attention his wife’s attractiveness commands, <\/p>\n

saying, \u2018She cleans up…\u2019I usually feel self-conscious when I wear something that I’ve probably worn a thousand times.<\/p>\n

The pleased husband continues, \u2018My entire career has been reduced to a plus-one now,\u2019 with a casual sense of humor. <\/p>\n

I had to identify myself as \u2018Amal Clooney’s husband\u2019 when I participated in one of those Women in Film events a few years ago because, quite frankly, I would have died otherwise.<\/p>\n

Yes, the children paid us a visit. They believe that my sole activity is playing in the water, claims Clooney. <\/p>\n

\u2018I had to shoot stuff in a tank for a movie I did a few years back called The Midnight Sky. When they came to visit, <\/p>\n

I was wearing clothing, but I was in a tank. They therefore assume I’m swimming when I get to work.<\/p>\n

While Clooney’s recent directing endeavors tell a somber tale, he also occasionally indulges in his lighter side.<\/p>\n

He brought back his Batman persona earlier this year when he made an unexpected cameo in the film The Flash’s climactic scene, which features Ezra Miller as the lead part.<\/p>\n

After the box office failure of 1997’s Batman & Robin, which is regarded as one of the worst superhero <\/p>\n

movies ever made, fans were delighted to see Clooney take on the character of Batman for a short while again. <\/p>\n

\u2018As you know, there was a lot of demand for me to return as Batman,\u2019 Clooney jokes. \u2018Can we do it without the rubber nipples?\u2019 they asked. \u2018Well, it’s not really my Batman, is it?\u2019 I thought to myself.<\/p>\n
