Donny claimed that being on stage was his “drug of choice” in an interview with The Standard from March 2023 because he enjoys putting audiences \u2018on a journey.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018I kind of see the end of the tunnel, it’s not very close because I have a lot of things I still want to do, <\/p>\n
but one of which I think I have to get to is 68 albums because then I’ll beat Elvis,\u2019 he said at the time.<\/p>\n
Throughout his career, the musician experienced a number of health issues, despite his determination to perform.<\/p>\n
Doctors discovered in 2019 that his dancing-related injuries had caused a change in his spine.<\/p>\n
In 2021, Donny stated in an interview with the Daily Mirror: \u2018I was unable to feel my arms at first, <\/p>\n
and then my legs too. I kept my condition a secret from everyone.I simply kept dancing till the show was over.\u2019<\/p>\n
The singer later stated in September 2023 that he had to postpone two of his performances at Harrah’s <\/p>\n
Las Vegas \u2018due to illness,\u2019 and he promptly offered his apologies to the ticket holders for the inconvenience.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, following the cancelation of his shows, Donny managed to make a significant comeback.<\/p>\n
He talked about getting back together with his brothers for a performance earlier that month on Trisha Paytas’ \u2018Just Trish\u2019 podcast, and it sounded like it wouldn’t be happening any longer. <\/p>\n
\u2018With my brothers? I don’t suppose so; most people have retired by now,\u2019 he remarked. <\/p>\n

As one of his closest siblings, Merrill Osmond, performed at his final gig ever in April 2022 at the age of 68, Donny was correct in the interview regarding his brothers’ retirement.<\/p>\n
During that period, Donny posted a picture of himself and his close brother on social media. He was seen <\/p>\n
in the picture giving Merrill a heartfelt embrace from behind while his sibling was singing passionately.<\/p>\n
He wrote in the caption:<\/p>\n
\u2018I’ll never forget that evening. I attended my brother Merrill’s farewell show in the United States. <\/p>\n
When we performed together in the 1970s at the Westgate Theater, I became a fan too as I sung along with all of the other fans there.\u2019<\/p>\n
He later disclosed in a follow-up post that although Merrill had asked him to walk upstage during his last song, <\/p>\n
he couldn’t resist giving his brother a heartfelt hug as he bid farewell to his lengthy career in the music business.<\/p>\n
\u2018Yes, The Osmonds was developed by all of us, but Merrill’s vocal gave the group its distinctive sound. It was a very remarkable occasion. I’m grateful, my brother,\u2019 he continued.<\/p>\n
