His family confirmed to People in a statement that he died at home, surrounded by the people who held deep affection for him. <\/p>\n

With 130 credits under his belt throughout the course of his career, Wilkinson was an extremely talented and recognized actor, according to IMDB.<\/p>\n
Notable is his performance as Gerald in the 1997 film The Full Monty, which follows a gang of unemployed steelworkers as they \u2018form a male striptease act,\u2019 according to IMDB.<\/p>\n
For his contribution in the well-known comedy, Wilkinson received the 1998 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role. <\/p>\n
This year, Wilkinson returned to the character of Gerald following Disney+’s relaunch of The Full Monty for a six-episode miniseries.<\/p>\n

Following their 1988 wedding, the couple continued to work together on acting roles. In the 2014 movie Good People and The Kennedys, <\/p>\n
