When a father saw an old woman at the grocery store, he responded just like this.In March 2017, a story on news.com.au <\/p>\n
stated that Ryan O’Donnell, a man, was standing in line at a Wyoming supermarket to pay for his goods.<\/p>\n
In front of him was an old woman. Sadly, despite the cashier’s best efforts to swipe the card multiple times, <\/p>\n
the kind elderly woman’s card continued getting denied, making it difficult for her to buy her purchases.<\/p>\n

O’Donnell intervened and made the decision to assist the woman by covering the cost of her groceries.<\/p>\n
The 34-year-old father said on \u2018The Today Show,\u2019 \u2018I was just there in the grocery aisle or checkout with my kids and I saw the old lady having some trouble with the card.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018By that stage my groceries had gone through and I went around and spoke to the young lady and said ‘how much is it’ and they said $44 or something… <\/p>\n
her card kept being declined due to insufficient funds so I said ‘Look, here’s $50 just take it out of that’,\u2019 he recalled, providing additional context for the endearing exchange.<\/p>\n
His deed of generosity made it onto social media, where it was widely praised by others upon the sharing of a picture of him with the elderly woman.<\/p>\n

\u2018This guy at Wyoming Coles who just went through the register with his two kids paid for this ladies groceries when her card kept declining,” @Boycey1105 posted in the image’s caption on social media.<\/p>\n
The elderly woman was standing at the counter in the picture, dressed in blue slacks and a white shirt, <\/p>\n
while O’Donnell was dressed in black shorts and a yellow shirt. In the photo, her convertible walker was also visible.<\/p>\n
The user revealed in a later post that O’Donnell refused to reimburse the elderly woman despite her insistence on being paid back.<\/p>\n
\u2018She wanted to pay him back eventually and he just said \u2018Don’t worry, have a good day,\u2019 but I couldn’t fit it in the original tweet,\u2019 the user continued.<\/p>\n
In an interview, O’Donnell went on to describe the interaction, saying, \u2018The woman wanted to know how she was going to get the money back to me.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Oh look, don’t worry about it, you’ll be right, and enjoy your day,\u2019 I said. After that, I guess I went to Gloria Jeans to buy myself a coffee before leaving.<\/p>\n
He said that the woman was \u2018getting confused\u2019 and that she reminded him of his own grandmother when questioned why he had made the kind gesture.<\/p>\n
\u2018I was unable to leave… That’s how my parents raised me,\u2019 he continued. Social media users applauded O’Donnell for his bravery, with one writing, <\/p>\n
