No matter how skilled you are at relaxing your child, there are occasions when they simply cannot be consoled. <\/p>\n

This is a truth that is parallel to the fact that, regardless of how skilled you are at calming your child, there are times when you come across someone who is a master at it.<\/p>\n

This was the situation that occurred for Mary-Ann Byrnes, who was 38 years old at the time. She was at a Dollar Tree in Cedar Grove,<\/p>\n

New Jersey, when her daughter, who was also named Mary-Ann and was two years old, began to have a crying fit.<\/p>\n

Fortunately for the Mary-Anns, they were in the presence of such a master\u2014the cashier, who was videotaped <\/p>\n

taking up the youngster and promptly soothing her down with an invitation to scan the products together.<\/p>\n

Mary-Ann recalled, \u2018My mom and daughter and I went to a Dollar Tree store about a town away to pick up some stuff for Christmas.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018The store was fairly busy by the time we were in line, and my mom had a separate cart and was still shopping.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018My kid is in that stage of toddlerhood where she has to be picked up all the time and gets restless. She began to cry and had a mini-meltdown as a result, <\/p>\n

which she said was difficult to handle given all I had to pay for and the need to keep others waiting.<\/p>\n

Upon noticing Mary-Ann’s difficulties, cashier Fatimah Leftwich politely inquired if the toddler, who was in her Terrible Twos, would want to assist behind the desk.<\/p>\n

The young Mary-Ann agreed right away.<\/p>\n

She enquired as to whether it would be okay for her to pick up my daughter before assisting her in scanning every thing I had and even some of the items of those behind me!<\/p>\n

\u2018I saw a woman with such a lovely, reassuring vibe that she could calm my daughter down. It was incredible,\u2019 her mother remarked.<\/p>\n

In a video, Mary-Ann is seen looking around in Fatimah’s arms, totally at ease, and getting encouragement from Fatimah when she tells her that \u2018she’s a fast learner.\u2019<\/p>\n

Since the video was shot, Mary-Ann and Fatimah have remained in touch, and Fatimah has been moved to a Dollar Tree that is nearer to her house.<\/p>\n
