<\/p>\nDespite all that Judge Judy has accomplished in her life, there is one aspect of her profession that she regrets. And a lot of people never would have imagined it.<\/p>\n
Judge Judy, also known as Judy Sheindlin, had always known she wanted to work in the legal field. <\/p>\n
She studied in government at American University in Washington, D.C., after graduating from James Madison High School in New York.<\/p>\n
She spent some time in the nation’s capital before moving back to New York to finish her legal studies.<\/p>\n
She passed the state bar in 1965, the same year she graduated. Not long after graduating, she was employed by a cosmetic corporation as a corporate lawyer. <\/p>\n
However, after just two years, she decided that the corporate legal world was not for her, and she quit.<\/p>\n

She became a mother of two after quitting her work. In 1972, she made yet another position change and began working as a prosecutor in the family court system of New York. <\/p>\n
She gained notoriety in the legal system, leading to her appointment as a criminal court judge by Mayor Ed Koch.<\/p>\n
Four years later, she was elevated to the position of supervising judge in the Manhattan family court division.<\/p>\n
Her no-nonsense demeanor in New York started garnering national prominence by the early 1990s.<\/p>\n
Sheindlin’s television career took off after she made appearances in 60 Minutes and The Los Angeles Times.<\/p>\n

Sheindlin was offered a cameo in the 2001 film Legally Blonde during her tenure. She added to E News, \u2018They said, ‘We’d like you to be the judge,’ through someone.\u2019<\/p>\n
The 81-year-old said that turning down the cameo was the “biggest mistake” of her career, but she did not explain why.<\/p>\n
