Bryan Randall, Sandra’s partner, died at the age of fifty-seven. He had been fighting ALS, a disease that damages nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, for three years. <\/p>\n
There is currently no known treatment for it.\u2019We regret to inform you that Bryan Randall passed away peacefully on August 5,\u2019 his family stated.<\/p>\n
Bryan made the decision to keep his ALS journey a secret. We tried our best to honor that as those who looked after him.\u2019<\/p>\n

The actress discussed the choice in an interview with Jada Pinkett Smith on Red Table Talk. Sandra clarified that they were single and didn’t think \u2018 a piece of paper\u2019 was necessary to prove their love.<\/p>\n
She says, \u2018I don’t want to suggest do it like I do it, but being a loving mother and partner doesn’t require a paper trail. <\/p>\n
It is not necessary to tell me to be there when things are tough. I don’t require instructions to survive a storm with a decent man.<\/p>\n
