Following St. Patrick’s Day celebrations on Wednesday, the gathering honored the memories of Sinead O’Connor and her close friend Shane MacGowan, who both passed away last year.<\/p>\n

At the end of the evening, Dublin-born singer Roisin Waters onto the stage, instantly evoking memories of her mother thanks to her remarkable beauty and expressive vocals.<\/p>\n

Roisin was greeted by Sinead O’Connor, who died on July 26 at the age of 56, along with her friend, Irish journalist John Waters. Following a protracted custody battle, Roisin’s father reared her in Ireland.<\/p>\n

reflecting a moment reminiscent of O’Connor’s homage to her late mother.Fans complimented Waters on her performance in a YouTube video, calling it \u2018beautiful.\u2019<\/p>\n

With a roster that included renowned performers including The Violent Femmes, Josh Ritter, Imelda May, Billy Bragg, and Dropkick Murphys, the event earned $70,000 for the nonprofit organization PEN America.<\/p>\n

Performers honored MacGowan and O’Connor for three hours, performing their best-loved songs and sharing personal tales and recollections of the esteemed singers.<\/p>\n
