Anticipations might cause us to continuously question our actions and words, questioning if we handled things correctly.<\/p>\n
Emmy Russell is all too familiar with the experience of trying to meet expectations. Loretta Lynn, <\/p>\n

the late, iconic singer, was her grandma. Emmy grew up on a tour bus and sang, with Loretta Lynn as her grandma.<\/p>\n
Emmy’s mother Patsy explained why her daughter was so anxious prior to her audition. She claimed that having those expectations\u2014both her own and those of others\u2014and hailing from a musical family were major contributing factors. <\/p>\n
\u2018I believe that there is a huge shadow when you come from a musical family,\u2019 Patsy remarked. \u2018How can I step into those shoes? The truth is that you don’t. Your shadow is something you create.<\/p>\n
The young woman took a seat at the piano and began to play her original tune, \u2018Skinny,\u2019 with grace as she tickled the keys. Throughout Emmy’s exquisite performance, the judges exchanged perceptive glances. <\/p>\n

Emmy was also advised by Katy Perry not to make self-comparisons with her grandmother. She has been gifted with a lot of talent, so she should instead be herself.<\/p>\n
She remarked, \u2018I don’t think you need to compare yourself to what grandma was.\u2019 \u2018You are completely unique. You shouldn’t put too much strain on yourself.<\/p>\n
She eventually received three yes votes from the judges, which moved the young woman to tears.<\/p>\n
