<\/p>\nAn inventive “portal” between Dublin, Republic of Ireland, and New York, USA, was presented last week; <\/p>\n
however, due to improper behavior on the Dublin side, it was temporarily closed within the same week. <\/p>\n
Gylys, a Lithuanian artist, came up with the unique idea for the gateways.They allow cities\u2014currently New York and Dublin, <\/p>\n
with ambitions to add other cities\u2014to share footage with one another via big circular screens via live streaming.<\/p>\n

Gylys stated in a statement, \u2018Portals are an invitation to meet people above borders and differences and to experience our world as it really is, united and one.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018The livestream provides a window between distant locations, allowing people to meet outside of their social circles and cultures, transcend geographical boundaries, and embrace the beauty of global interconnectedness.\u2019<\/p>\n
De R\u00f3iste, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, repeated this idea, urging both locals and tourists to interact with the artwork and give a warm greeting to the audience throughout the world. <\/p>\n
The gateway was welcomed at first, and in the upcoming months, several shows were scheduled on both sides of the broadcast.<\/p>\n

But as soon as recordings of inappropriate behavior from Dublin started making the rounds online, the campaign ran into problems. <\/p>\n
People have been observed mooning at the New York camera, holding up improper photographs, and using foul language. <\/p>\n
As a result, Dublin City Council temporarily closed the gateway as they looked for \u2018technical solutions\u2019 to the issue.<\/p>\n

The council clarified that the conduct of “a very small minority of people” who behaved inappropriately were the reason for the portal’s removal. <\/p>\n
\u2018While we cannot control all of these actions, we are implementing some technical solutions to address this,\u2019 the council said. <\/p>\n
\u2018We will continue to monitor the situation over the coming days with our partners in New York to ensure that portals continue to deliver a positive experience for both cities and the world.\u2019<\/p>\n
Some voiced trepidation, while many others welcomed the concept with gusto. Someone said, \u2018It’s a great idea if people had self-respect rather than using it to make a trashy video for likes.\u2019 <\/p>\n
Furthermore, several expressed worries about how such luxury might affect the environment, emphasizing <\/p>\n
that \u2018we need to find a balance between innovation and sustainability to ensure a better future for all.\u2019<\/p>\n
