This woman celebrated her 90th birthday in a unique way. Not all young people would even take that step…

Hilary Oxley, who lives in east London, was given the ridiculous idea by her family ten years ago as she approached her 80th birthday to go skydiving.

Grandmother Oxley had a blast, but as she approached her ninth decade of life in July, it was once again time to plan a gift for her.

Her two granddaughters decided to run it back because they thought it had gone well the first time and to challenge their spry grandmother to jump again.

She remarked, ‘You only live once,’ after the skydiving. ‘The experience is lovely—sometimes when I go shopping, I’m more nervous doing that.’

The staff at Skydive Headcorn in Ashford, Kent, couldn’t believe how calm she was about the situation after granddaughters Stephanie and Daisy said they were afraid before jumping.

Hilary said the occasion was very emotional because a family member gave her a scratch-off lottery ticket from which she

won a free vacation to Marbella, Spain. ‘Never in a million years when I did it at the age of 80 did I think I would be here 10 years later,’ Hilary said.

Stephanie acknowledged that it was a priceless family memory that will endure for a very long time.

‘It’s fantastic for my sister and myself… It’s amazing to share that memories with my grandmother, she remarked.

Hilary refused to rule out another skydiving when she turns 95, even though she acknowledged that two were more than enough for the time being.
