When the woman recognized what she thought was a ‘dirty bit of bent metal’ she found in her yard, she was overcome with emotion.

The 90-year-old woman noticed something in the dirt while she was taking care of the garden that surrounded the apple tree that her late husband had planted.

On the grounds that she assumed it to be nothing more than a bit of metal, she prepared to discard it.

Then, though, she thought back to the day when her husband had lost his ring and realized it was no longer on his finger while tending to the garden.

It didn’t look like a wedding ring at all, Ann continued. ‘At first glance, it appeared to be a corroded and

twisted piece of metal, but after some thought, I realized it was impossible. I had absolutely no control on my enthusiasm.

The woman took out a wedding ring that had been buried so long that Ann had completely lost sight of it before it was found.

She was polishing the ring, but as she did so, a smile spread across her face since the ring was a symbol of all the years she had spent with her husband Peter.

When Bob, Ann’s son, learned the news from his mother, he was astounded by it as well: ‘Mum was overcome with emotion and pleased by the news.’

The wedding ring that Ann found is a special and significant way for the woman to always have her spouse close by.
