It’s hard to imagine what it would be like to be a surrogate, get pregnant with twins, and then find out that one of the babies is your own child.
You’re saying that this could only happen in a movie, right?
Mistake. At some point in her life, this was true for Jessica Allen.
During their two years of marriage, Jessica and Wardell Allen were happy and loved each other.
Jessica, on the other hand, decided to become a surrogate mother because she really wanted to help families who couldn’t have children or take them to term.
As a surrogate mother for a Chinese pair, Jessica started the IVF process. In April 2016, she found out she was going to have not one, but two babies at the same time.
Jessica was having twins at the time of the event. The doctors told her that, even though it is very rare, a single egg can sometimes split into two different embryos.
In addition to Jessica’s pregnancy going smoothly, the Chinese couple found out that their twins would be coming soon.
She noticed that one of the Chinese couple’s newborn kids had darker skin than the other one before giving the babies to the Chinese couple.
A few days later, the Chinese couple sent Jessica some photos via text message. She noticed right away how different they looked from each other.
One of the kids didn’t look like he was Chinese because his skin was the same color as Jessica and Wardell’s other children.
Jessica didn’t have the guts to talk about her worries, even though they were red flags.
After a few weeks, the Chinese couple started to wonder if everything was going the way they had planned.
The results of a DNA test showed that something that seemed impossible before was now a possibility.
Unbelievable as it may seem, one of the babies was Jessica and Wardell’s real child. This shows that they did not have twins.
After a long process, they were able to get their child back, and now they are happy to be a whole family again.
In this case, there is a scientific puzzle. Most of the time, a woman’s period stops as soon as she finds out she is pregnant.
Still, in a few very rare cases, it can last longer, making it possible for a woman who is already pregnant to get pregnant again.
