The results of the Miss Earth pageant are widely publicized since it is often regarded as the most prestigious of the “big four” pageants. The tournament was hosted by the Philippines.
After competing against entrants from 86 different nations, South Korean native Mina Sue Choi, age 23, was crowned the winner.
This is a historic moment because South Korean women have never won this title before.
Mina Sue Choi was born in Sydney, Australia to parents with Korean-American ancestry.
She moved back to Korea with her family when she was seven years old and started attending a school in Seoul.
Since 2021, she’s been based in the United States, where she studies communication arts at the University of Illinois.

Mina honors her history by staying true to her family’s customs and keeping in touch with her relatives not just in Korea but also in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
The young Korean argued that carbon emissions may be reduced through the adoption of green modes of transportation.
One of her favorite things to do is to ride her bike around the streets of Seoul, as she put it.
She told the panel of judges in the final round that she hopes her efforts would help make the world a more welcoming and compassionate place for all people.

She also emphasized the value of empathy and the ability to put oneself in another’s position.
