Celebrities have been reaching out to the Walmart cashier who sang a Dolly Parton song because ‘voices like hers don’t come around very often.’ Video

Some people are destined for fame from birth.

When Kayla Slone’s spontaneous rendition of a Dolly Parton song went viral, she was only 21 years old.

She made the decision to start singing while she was a clerk at Walmart in Logan, West Virginia.

Fortunately, one of her friends was present to video it, and after it was uploaded to YouTube, it quickly went viral.

Slone had always wanted to be a singer and, at the age of 15, she and her brother even created an album but had no way to release it.

Since then, she has had the dream of performing at the renowned Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

However, her haphazard on-the-job rendition of Dolly Parton’s 1971 smash song ‘Coat of Many Colors’ unlocked a world of possibilities.

Pete Fisher, Opry Vice President and General Manager, watched her video after it received hundreds of thousands of views, and he sent an invitation for her to perform on the stage of her dreams.

He said to ABC News:

‘The best country music features real folks singing about real life… But it all begins with enthusiasm, and we’re delighted to provide her a platform.

She received an unexpected phone call from none other than country legend and coal miner’s daughter Loretta Lynn on Saturday as she was practicing at the Opryland Hotel.

According to Slone, ‘I think talking to Loretta helped me a lot,’ she told ABC News. I stated it was an honor to perform her song,

and she assured me she loved me and would be watching. I want to sing that kind of music because that’s the kind of music I listened to growing up.

The country music icon wished her luck and made a commitment to attend the show. Slone sung both Lynn’s ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ and the Dolly Parton classic that made her famous.

She then accepted Diane Sawyer’s invitation to appear on ABC for an interview where she discussed her experience and future goals.

And as a result, Anderson Cooper extended yet another offer to appear on television.

She received yet another significant invitation from none other than country music icon Dierks Bentley while she was appearing on Cooper’s show.

He stated:

‘I love you a lot. I watched the video, just like a lot of other people, and my goodness, I really adore your singing and voice—you have such a classic country tone.

I loved your narrative, and it was incredibly refreshing. I figured you could be visiting Las Vegas for the first time to attend the Academy of Country Music Awards in April.

When she learned that he had already made certain plans, she was shocked.

Of course, not everyone’s budget allows for an impromptu journey across the nation, but Cooper took care of that.

He offered to pay for travel and accommodations for Slone and her coal miner after she accepted the invitation, which nearly brought her to tears.

Bentley intended to introduce her to executives at record labels, but it’s not known what happened to her after 2014.

The next year, she did go on tour with a few country artists, but it doesn’t seem like she has ever put out an album.
