Family dumps dog with deformed face, but then an angel shows up and makes everything right. This story will warm your heart

Lucky has little to look forward to in life. None of the owners or families he had been with showed him the respect or affection he so richly deserved.

Lucky, a puppy factory-born pup, was never taken in by an adoptive family. He was ultimately distributed without charge.

Lucky was constantly moved around throughout his youth, never having the chance to settle down or establish himself.

He frequently was given away to the following owner because nobody wanted to retain him for very long.

Lucky has had many owners throughout the years, but none of them have truly taken care of his needs.

In Austin, Texas, where he most recently resided with a family, he was sadly abandoned and left to fend for himself.

Lucky was required to remain outside all day long since the family’s cats didn’t appreciate him being there.

He was abandoned in the yard, chained to a tree, without access to adequate food or a cozy place to sleep.

Being fussed over or receiving the love and attention that a dog could typically receive in a home was not an option.

Without giving it much thought, the decision was taken to get rid of Lucky when the family made the decision to move.

They got in touch with a local dog shelter. Lucky was left with his ‘family’ until they moved house while volunteers from the shelter started seeking for a new location for him to remain.

The animal shelter at last located a new foster family for Lucky. Sadly, it didn’t take them long to alter their minds; all it took was one glance at Lucky’s face for them to decide against the move.

Fortunately, a social media post made things different.

Lucky was groomed by one of the shelter’s volunteers, who then shared a few pictures of him on social media. Jamie Hult ultimately noticed a post and immediately requested to see the dog.

It just so happened to be someone from my network of dog rescuers, so I immediately called him and expressed my desire for the puppy.

Jamie told iHeartdogs, ‘I don’t even want to foster it; I want to have that puppy.

Keeping Lucky
Sadly, Lucky wasn’t in very good shape. He experienced malnutrition as a result of years of abuse and neglect, among other things.

He had never been microchipped and was covered in worms and fleas.

But Jamie made the choice to bring him home. Though it wouldn’t be simple, she would persevere no matter what.

Lucky finally found his forever home thanks to Jamie. He at last received the love and attention he had been seeking for so long.

Despite the difficult journey, Lucky has fully recovered and is currently living a long and healthy life.

‘He nearly didn’t survive. He spent a week in the oxygen tank. He was so infested that I had to spend something

like $8000 on treatment just to have an MRI to see what was going on. Jamie describes him as ‘like skin and bones.’

imminent death
Jamie was so adamant about healing Lucky that she was confident she would go to any lengths to make him well again.

‘It was close, and we once almost lost him. I told my vet, ‘I don’t care; just do whatever you need to for this

particular dog, and I’ll pay whatever it costs.’ Don’t be reluctant. And he succeeded. He is sound. He is now in the clear.

Lucky was able to change his situation thanks to the assistance of veterinarians and Jamie’s enormous heart. He’s doing fantastic now!

When I originally received him, I really wanted him to be around people, but they kept making fun of him and asking about his looks, Jamie explains.

‘Don’t worry, go ahead and laugh,’ I said. I got to work on his ties. Just to give his face some contrast,

and maybe the tie will focus attention to the parts of him that are nicer and less frightening.
Jamie even made the decision to rename Lucky. He was given the new name Beaux Tox for two reasons.

He obviously needs botox, but that’s good, which is why I gave him the moniker Beaux Tox. We value all forms of beauty. I also have a lot of dog expenses, which is why I don’t have botox.

Assisting animal friends

By all accounts, Lucky is a happy and lovable dog. He looks after his younger sister well and has assisted Jamie in raising the kittens he adopted.

Jamie said, ‘I’m glad I got Beaux, and we still rescue and foster.’ ‘He has raised kittens. Anything works well with Beaux Tox.

He is good with cats, kittens, and young skunks. He’ll spend an hour observing the spider. He is really interested in everything, and everything is interesting to him.
