On Sunday, a scared driver informed a Hillsborough County deputy that his wife was going to give

birth on the side of a Florida highway. The driver’s position was ideal because he was at the right location at the right moment.

In response to a cry for assistance, Master Deputy Daniel ‘Red’ Jones ‘sprang into action,’ according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

The 21-year veteran is seen in the video gripping the woman’s hand and urging her to keep breathing.

While they waited for more help, the two talked, but it soon became evident that the baby was not going to wait.

After the mother of six informed the deputy that her baby was ‘coming,’ a healthy baby girl was delivered shortly after.

The proud mother can then see Jones cradling the infant in the next cut of the film.

He remarked, ‘That’s a beautiful sound,’ as the young child began to cry. ‘Look at your lovely young lady.’

Shortly after the baby was delivered, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and took the mother and kid both to the hospital for evaluation.

Jones has assisted a resident with childbirth three times, according to Sheriff Chad Chronister, who lauded him for his prompt action and commitment to serve his community.

Although the mother of six had not intended to give birth in the front seat of a car, Master Deputy Jones
