He thought that being stopped over by police was because he was driving too fast, but the officer then made the most unusual request.

According to reports, William Jazwinski was driving when he noticed a police car approaching from behind and signaling for him to stop.

Jazwinski, a seasoned driver, asked the policeman, ‘Good morning officer, was I speeding?’ since he was concerned that he could have exceeded the speed limit.

In response, the officer said, ‘I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the service you have provided.’ There had not been a speeding infraction.

When the officer said that he had spent fifteen months serving in the Middle East, Jazwinski was moved and thanked him.

When the colonel noticed that Jazwinski had a flag on the dashboard of his car that resembled the one he

received when his son passed away, he went on to tell that his own son did not return from his service before making an odd request of Jazwinski.

Jazwinski claims the officer said, ‘You make me think of my kid, that’s why I brought you to a stop, and asked

if he would mind getting out to him a hug. At first, I thought you were him; I still can’t believe it.

Jazwinski immediately stepped out of his car, hugged the officer, and then started his car.
