The taxi driver found the backpack inside his car and was stunned to see what was inside…Video

We all experience unexpected revelations at different times throughout our life. In the American city of Boston,

Raymond ‘Buzzy’ MacCausland, who is from Middleton, New Hampshire, shares the same characteristics.

Raymond has been working in the same industry for more than fifty years.

He had found a variety of items that customers had left behind in his taxi during the course of his employment; he had picked up wallets, keys, and cell phones from the ground.

There was also a time when he found a briefcase filled to the brim with $10,000; but, because he was a trustworthy person, he always returned everything he found.

On one of his normal rounds of the town seeking for new passengers, Raymond found himself at a loss for

words when he came across someone who had left something behind that was so upsetting it rendered him speechless.

When Raymond saw a Boston-area homeless person, he was driving his taxi at the time. He took a car to a motel.

The other person wanted to run some errands, so Raymond was asked to wait for him for five minutes. He promised him he would return.

After a quarter of an hour of waiting, the guy never showed up. Raymond entered the hotel and confronted the receptionist

there since he was worried about the circumstance. The workers were unaware of the person he was referring to before he spoke.

As he returned to his taxi, Raymond was still perplexed.

He noticed a backpack there at that same moment behind his taxi. When Raymond stopped his taxi, he found that

it was loaded with a suitcase that contained a whopping US$187,000 worth of cash inside! The money was brought by Raymond to the station where he was employed.

‘That’s just the way I am. Although I don’t steal anything and have never been a thief, it would have been nice to see such a large sum of money because it surely makes people’s lives better.

When the Boston police made contact with the motel, they were able to track down the owner.

The individual provided proof that he was the legitimate owner of the funds. He received the fortune after the passing of his parents.

He had a receipt to support his assertion. Police Commissioner William Evans praised Raymond for both his good deed and his honesty.

When questioned why he chose to return the money, Raymond said, ‘I believe it was the right thing to do.’
