Delvar Deshawn Dopson was the one who picked up the trash for Brooklyn, who resides in Illinois. She used to do this frequently, waiting at the window for him to arrive with his truck and take the trash.
Every Thursday, Dopson used to go around and make his rounds. Every time she spotted him, Brooklyn would wave, smile, and call out to him.

He constantly smiled and expressed gratitude for the gesture. He was even more surprised when the little
girl decided to give him a present on her birthday. She was always a light of sunshine in his day.
Traci Andracke, Brooklyn’s mother, knew how much Dopson meant to her daughter and would occasionally
take her for walks around the neighborhood if they were unable to host one of his visits at their house.

Brooklyn was three years old and her one and only birthday wish was to give the trash man a special cupcake that she had baked to thank him for all of the hard work he had done.
The small girl decided that she would want to surprise Dopson with a tasty-looking fairy cupcake
that she had cooked herself. Brooklyn’s mother recorded the heartfelt scene and posted it to Facebook.

She remembers calling Dopson over and seeing him wave as he crossed the street following her call. Brooklyn handed him the cupcake she had been clutching as soon as he got out of his car.
The family and their trash man eventually established a new tradition as a result of this, and ever since then, they have been remembering the fun times they shared.

Dopson was compelled to say that he too eagerly anticipates seeing Andracke and her daughter each Thursday
after Andracke took the time to explain to him how pleased her daughter is by their weekly visits.
Brooklyn, on the other hand, went to her mother after Dopson left and told her, ‘Mommy, I couldn’t be happier.’

Dopson decided to repay the favor six months later by surprise Brooklyn and her brother Ty with cupcakes
and gifts on his birthday. The now well-established custom will not be abandoned by Dopson and Brooklyn’s family.
