Experience the heartwarming performance of Moonlight Sonata by a 92-year-old woman with dementia.

Dementia is one of the cruelest conditions because it takes away everything a person values. That could account for

the viral nature of a TikTok video showing a 92-year-old woman remembering how to play Beethoven on the piano.

It is both lovely and gives the families of those who have loved ones who are suffering from this terrible sickness hope.

Elaine Lebar, a resident of a special senior living community in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, is featured in the video.

Elaine has had dementia for ten years, yet she still entertains her neighbors every Sunday by playing the piano.

This would typically be wonderful only for the community’s members and tourists. Randi, Elaine’s daughter, has fortunately been recording the concerts for us.

It’s a way for her to keep these precious memories of her mother for the inevitable day when she can no longer play.

In this particular video, Elaine is seen playing the piano while stating she is unfamiliar with the song.

Her memory suddenly returns when she touches the keyboard a little while later. She performs Beethoven’s enchantingly beautiful Moonlight Sonata with ease.
