I would venture to guess that most high school students are thinking about a lot of things, but certainly not about building their own home.
But 13-year-old Luke Till of Darbuck, Iowa, is different from his peers. This talented and energetic teenager built his own house in the backyard.
The cost of his dream project was about $1,500, and now Luke lives in his own little cottage.
I can
say for sure that the boy is not like his peers. In today’s world, teenagers are obsessed with various gadgets,
iPads, smartphones and X-Box, and this young man found a more ‘old-fashioned’ way to attract him.

On his YouTube channel, Luke shared that the idea to build a tiny house was born out of boredom last summer. Then he did a thorough study and had a good idea of how he could make his dream come true.

It took him about a year to collect the money and materials needed to build the house.
For example, a familiar electrician helped a young man with electrical wiring in the house, in exchange for Luke tidying up his garage.
Thus, Luke found many things in his grandmother’s house, and the front door was given to him by his uncle’s friend.

The house is a little more than 8 square meters, 3 meters long and 1.70 meters wide, has electricity, but no water, plumbing or bathroom…yet.
‘I like minimalism,’ he said.
