An uproar was recently raised by Scot Pankey, a theatre and technology teacher at New Tech High School in Dallas, Texas.
One of the most amazing dance performances we’ve ever witnessed was performed by him and his students. You should absolutely check it out if you enjoy music.
In January 2015, they posted a performance video to YouTube, which has already received over 14 million views.
It takes us back to a time when life was simpler and more routine, when the schools were still open.
Almost every student in the school took part in the dance! Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ was played nonstop in the classrooms and halls by more than 200 kids as they practiced their dance moves.

When Pankey was on vacation during Christmas, he first heard the song.
He immediately felt a connection to it.
Pankey told 13WMAZ, ‘I heard the song and fell in love with it. I rose and got up to dance in my living room.
When classes began after the break, Pankey was already aware of his next assignment. Since it was a technological high school,
he reasoned that rather of just having them dance for their friends and family, he would have them make an Uptown Funk video for YouTube.
The pupils are engineers. They find the theater to be challenging. Pankey stated, ‘I told them we were going to practice for the next three weeks.
It required a lot of work and careful planning.
After all, most students studying technology don’t have dance on their minds.

However, he inspired them to give it their all by setting a straightforwardly attainable finish line for the video production.
We’re going to get 1,000 hits, I told them, Pankey remarked. The approximate amount of Facebook friends Pankey has is also 1000.
In the worst-case scenario, he believed he could persuade some of them to view the video. The footage, however, considerably surpassed his fondest hopes.
On the very first day it was published online, it received over a million views. After being picked up by various news outlets,
the tale immediately became popular online. Both Jill Biden and Michelle Obama as well as Bruno Mars himself tweeted about the dance.
Pankey and his students were completely overwhelmed by the response. ‘They were surprised,’ Emails from people all over the world were arriving at our inbox.
For them, ‘it was a big realization about the impact they could have on the world,’ Pankey said.
They were unable to believe it. But after seeing the video, it’s clear why so many people shared it.
When the video starts, Pankey is seated at his desk in his classroom. He then begins dancing to the beat of the music as it begins to play.
Some girls quickly follow him into the corridor.
Pankey comes across more and more groups of youngsters as he walks across the school, each of whom is demonstrating a different funky dance move.
It’s incredible!!!
