When two-year-old Logan and his father Justin Moore showed up at the Home Depot store in 2019, they were no different from other shoppers.
But Logan won the heart of support manager Kathy Annsley. And when she found out why Justin needed the parts on his shopping list, she knew she had to help.
While father and son went away for an hour thinking the employees were picking their order at the warehouse, Home Depot workers were busy assembling their own walkers for Logan!

Logan was born with hypotension, a condition characterized by decreased muscle tone and strength.
In older children, this is treated with physical therapy. But for babies and toddlers, things are more complicated, and usually only parents can help their children and teach them to move.
Logan’s mom, Christian, became suspicious when the baby was only a few weeks old. He was not as active as other children of his age and could not raise his head.
When he was old enough to roll over, he couldn’t do it either. At first he could not even sit, but gradually he learned.
When Logan was ready to take his first steps, leg braces were purchased for him. But they were also not enough.
What he really needed was a special walker. But the insurance company wouldn’t pay for it, and Justin and Christian couldn’t afford to buy such a thing on their own.

Like most people in search of an answer, Justin tried his luck on the internet. He wanted to figure out how to assemble a
baby walker on his own. It took some digging, but he found what he needed. Then, armed with blueprints and a list of parts he needed, he and Logan went to Home Depot.
Completely different level of customer service.

Their first stop at Home Depot was the helpdesk. Justin asked manager Kathy Annsley if the store had everything he needed.
Curiosity got the better of her and she asked what he was going to do with the items on his list.
Meanwhile, she fell in love with little Logan and his radiant smile. And when Justin told her that he wanted to build a walker for his son because he could hardly afford one, she knew exactly what to do.
She said she should ask the store manager if they had the details and asked Justin and Logan to wait at the table.
She then left with the list in hand to speak to the manager. But she didn’t want to ask about the details.
She, of course, knew that the store had everything in stock. No, Cathy intended to do something else.
When the woman returned a few minutes later, she informed Justin that some parts were in stock. Let him and Logan come back in an hour, everything will be ready.
The best surprise

While Justin and Logan ate ice cream, the store manager and workers were hard at work creating the best possible surprise.
When Justin and Logan returned to the store, they found a ready-made bright orange walker just the right size for a toddler. They even had Logan’s name on them.
When Logan took his first steps, he had a smile on his face from ear to ear. Jeff Anderson, one of the people who helped make the walker, told CNN:
‘Everyone cried when they saw Logan take his steps with a big smile on his face… Thank you to everyone who helped and was a part of this little guy’s life.’
Sometimes the greatest acts of kindness come from people you don’t know, complete strangers whose paths accidentally cross yours.
Justin and Logan will always remember Kathy and her co-workers who turned an ordinary shopping trip into an amazing, unforgettable day.
