The TV show American Idol returned to the screens only a few weeks ago, but during this time its participants have already

managed to tell many stories about remarkable resilience and endurance. Especially in this regard,

the performance of Marcio Donaldson stands out, which from the very beginning was very different from the rest.

Marcio did not hide his feelings and emotions at all. It soon became clear why. Marcio was faced with a difficult choice to adopt his nephew, who was only one week old,

or to give him up to be raised by other people. After some thought, this wonderful man decided to take it for himself.

Marcio’s life was not easy. He was born in the California city of Compton, notorious for its high crime rate,

and from childhood he was surrounded by drugs and weapons. Unfortunately, Marcio’s mother also became a victim of drugs, and they,

along with her sister, ended up with strangers. Music was often the only outlet for Marcio. Of course,

he never had money for a good music teacher. However, Marcio remained true to himself and soon found that music helped him get rid of all the negativity that he often had to deal with in his teens.

Unfortunately, his sister could not find such an outlet, and she fell into the same vicious circle as her mother.

Marcio’s sister became a drug addict. And just 6 months before appearing on the show, he learned that his sister had a baby.

Due to drug problems, she was deemed unable to fulfill the role of a mother, so soon a couple of policemen appeared on Marcio’s doorstep and asked him if he would like to take her son for himself.

‘The police came and asked if I wanted to take the child or give it to strangers,’ explains Marcio.

And soon what at first was perceived as a heavy burden turned out to be a real blessing. Marcio immediately decided that he could not

leave his nephew to the mercy of fate and did not want him to follow in his footsteps with his sister, so he decided to take him.

He admits that at first it was very difficult to cope with the child, but then this child became the meaning of his life for him.

Marcio is doing everything possible for this baby. Including sings, surprising judges and spectators with her wonderful and sensual voice!
