A man who lives by himself. exchanges turkey with a barefoot youngster, but the following year…

A street-barefoot child was given a Thanksgiving turkey by a lonely father who spends every holiday alone.

The following year, the family got together to observe Thanksgiving and all other holidays.
The day before Thanksgiving,

Michael listened to his coworkers discuss their plans. A few of them were en route home. While some intended to spend

their vacations by the lake, others envisioned themselves relaxing with their wives in opulent hotels.

Because he didn’t have a family of his own or a fiancée to spend time with, Michael was never the kind to lavishly celebrate the holidays.

He would treat himself to a good supper at a nice restaurant or a solo trip to Vegas to let free and relax if he believed anything was worth celebrating.

When he found out he had met a female, they agreed to spend the holidays together. He had originally planned to spend Thanksgiving with his other single friend.

On Thanksgiving, Michael realized the amount of food he had bought for dinner was simply too much for him to eat by himself.

Then it dawned on him to cook a celebratory meal and give the leftovers to a nearby homeless shelter he frequently passed on his way home from work.

Making some of his favorite Thanksgiving meals took up the entire afternoon for Michael. Along with other meals, he prepared a turkey, apple pie, beef and mushroom casserole, and more.

He put all of the food into aluminum tins to deliver to the shelter, thinking to himself, ‘I should have done this years ago!’

After finishing, he went to the shelter and invited everyone to a nice supper at the table. One of the boys at the shelter exclaimed, ‘Wow!’ He said, ‘I’ve never had this kind of food before.’

Don’t worry, Michael assured her, ‘I’ll keep bringing you meals over the holidays.’ He told the gathering, ‘Go ahead and eat.’

Michael was about to help himself to some food when he noticed a lonely, barefooted child sitting in the far corner of the room.

Michael decided to cheer up the youngster by putting some turkey on a platter with other appetizers. He handed the young man the plate and said, ‘Have a meal, young man.’

The young boy cast a tear-filled glance in his direction. He thanked her and reluctantly took the platter.

He said, ‘My mother used to make this food for me, but she’s now too busy to do so.’
Where’s your mother? Michael asked.

She spends the entire day working to save money for a respectable home purchase. The small boy said softly,

‘She picks me up late at night and drops me off here in the morning.’ As soon as he said that, Michael instantly identified himself in the young man.

When Michael was younger, his mother would also leave him with family while she went to work. She never showed up,

and once his aunt and uncle passed away, he was left without a family to spend the holidays with.

Michael promised to help the child since he did not want to experience the same situation. He offered the

boy’s mother a high-paying position with fewer hours after waiting for her to get back to the shelter.

After being hired as Michael’s assistant, the woman questioned whether she ‘would really do that for me.’

‘Of course. I require a committed secretary, Michael declared. Your son Damon claimed you put in a full day’s work. That alone shows how committed you are.

Michael’s mother, Lindy, broke down in tears. After the Thanksgiving break, she thanked Michael for his help and started working for him.

One year later, Damon, Lindy, and Michael are seated at his dining room table at home. Once he and Lindy fell in

love and got married, he no longer had to spend the holidays alone and he never had to eat by himself again.

Before meals, do you pray? Before they started their Thanksgiving lunch, Lindy grinned at him with kindness.
