Best friends from childhood who hadn’t spoken in 60 years reunited In unexpected place

Childhood friends Janet Henderson and Irene Gresty lived in the same area in the 1940s in Linlithgow, West Lothian, England.

However, they became apart with time, just like many other friendships do. Irene got married and left with her new husband, who was in the navy and frequently

sent to different places like Singapore, following the ceremony. She returned home because she wanted to spend her retirement years near to her family.

Without even realizing it, she had been living rather close to Janet for the preceding three years.

Irene and her long-lost friend stumbled into one other at an event planned at the Bield senior residence,

and Irene’s heart skipped a beat as she saw her for the first time in a very long time. They are both 80 years old at this point.

She asked me, ‘Is that you, Irene?’ as we sat down next to one another. and the only thing I could muster was

a chuckle and ‘Yes, Janet’ She said, ‘I can’t believe my good fortune that it occurred. I was overjoyed to have run into her again.’

The two women made a promise that they would never miss each other for so long, and they spent the entire day catching up.

Throughout our time together, we made many lovely memories of watching out for one another and having fun at the park.

I am really looking forward to hooking up with her in the future now that we have switched numbers because we have a lot of years to make up on.

The fact that the two women were able to reconnect with one another is amazing and only serves as proof that you never know when you’ll cross paths with an old friend once more.
