Deaf man adopted a deaf dog from a shelter and trains her with gestures… Video

Nick Abbott just got himself a wonderful pet named Emerson. This three-month-old puppy was adopted by a Maine resident from an animal shelter called North Florida Rescue (NFR).

Emerson’s life did not work out from the very beginning. Their entire litter ended up at the animal

shelter when the puppies were only eight weeks old. By that time, the puppy had already become seriously ill.

Emerson was deaf and suffered from seizures and had difficulty eating and drinking. On top of that, the poor fellow had picked up a parvovirus somewhere.

Although Emerson managed to survive the crisis and recover, it turned out that no one wanted to take such a problematic puppy.

Fortunately, then Nick appeared in the life of the poor fellow. Nick says he fell in love with this puppy at first sight.

He came to the NFR shelter with his mother, and Emerson immediately came up to them and sat right at his feet.

From that day on, both became friends – do not spill water. Nick immediately decided to make sure that he

had no problems communicating with the dog, and decided to teach her sign language. Thanks to this, now these two perfectly understand each other.

NFR shelter workers are also very happy – it is very difficult to find a suitable home for such a dog.

Nick and Emerson seem to be made for each other. Nick says that he and Emerson understand each other very well.
