One young lady came up with a nice and amusing approach to ask her father to accompany her to a father-daughter dance.

Social media has burst with recordings of young males asking young women to go with them to a dance over the past ten or so years.

These brief videos are typically little more than ostentatious, lavish, and showy attempts to garner attention on Facebook or Twitter.

How many times can a 17-year-old ask another 17-year-old to an annual dance, for real? Evidently a lot, as those films consistently appear on social media around May 1st.

One YouTube video, however, demonstrates how one young lady chose a much easier and understated approach when asking someone to drive her to the dance.

The video also reveals that the young girl preferred to attend the father-daughter dance to the prom.

The young girl in the video holds up a sign that reads, ‘I want to go to the dance,’ and is seen standing

at the end of the driveway. ‘Daddy, will you be my date to the Father/Daughter Dance?’ the placard asks.

Isn’t it a straightforward request? But the young girl’s nice question to her father also contained a hint

of sarcasm. A short while later, the young girl flips her sign over to reveal an extra message.
‘If yes, Can I borrow some money to buy tickets?’ it says on the back of her sign.

Even though the little video ends before the child receives a definitive response, it is safe to assume

that her father drove her to the dance. He might have even suggested that I buy the tickets as well.

This kind, thoughtful request from a daughter to spend an enjoyable evening with her father is probably a moment they both will cherish for a very long time.
