The little girl couldn’t wait another second to hug her father since she hadn’t seen him in almost eight months.

Karis Oglesby, 2, chased her father, 1st Lt. Daniel Oglesby, who was in formation, during a homecoming ceremony in Colorado on Tuesday.

In a video, Karis could be seen running across the gym while donning red, white, and blue attire and

gleaming gold boots. She approached her father, who hugged her before nudging her to return to her seat.

Having just returned from Kuwait, 1st Lt. Oglesby said to ABC News, ‘I wasn’t worried about keeping the integrity of the formation.’

The focus of the homecoming celebration is on our families, who have made sacrifices by going nearly

nine months without seeing their loved ones. I was ecstatic to see my adorable little one. According to Oglesby, his toddler’s unexpected sprint for a hug ‘was a pleasant surprise.’
