Four years after escaping from his owner’s car, a devoted dog remained in the same roadside place and one they…

A dog is sometimes referred to as a man’s best friend. However, a 2019 account of a devoted dog in

Thailand showed that some dogs’ loyalty to their owners went much beyond than was previously thought possible.

A dog by the name of Bong Bong ran away from his owner’s automobile at a gas station one day, only to be discovered four years later,

waiting for him patiently by the side of the road in the same area every day. The owner of Bong Bong was eventually located, but by that time the dog had other ideas.

In this unusual tale, a guy by the name of Anuchit Uncharoen saw a dog on the side of the road in Thailand’s Mueang District

and asked people around what they knew about the frail-looking canine. At that point, he discovered the dog was being fed by Saowaluck Pinnuvech.

Uncharoen was informed by Pinnuvech that she had been giving food to the dog following an unsuccessful attempt to bring the dog home to live with her.

She told Anuchit that when she carried the dog home, he simply ran away and returned to the spot where he had been found.

Uncharoen was also informed by Pinnuvech that the dog, dubbed Leo by the villagers, had been loitering in the same spot for four years.

Uncharoen was taken aback and made the decision to upload a photo of Leo online to see if anyone knew the dog. Uncharoen posted about the

lost puppy on Facebook in September 2019. The man translated from Thai to English that the dog had ‘wounds all over the body.’ It was clear that the devoted dog had endured a lot.

The Facebook post continued, saying:

And I’m moved and sympathetic toward him. He does this practically daily as he waits for his master.

However, after seeing, it is impossible. Please let me know who the owner is if you do. Like you, I have no idea what to do.

Pinnuvech reportedly told the Mirror, ‘I found this dog since 2016, back then he was so skinny and he had skin lesions.’

Unexpectedly, Noi Sittisarn, a woman, noticed the post and came forward to claim that the dog belonged to her and was named Bong Bong.

The dog had been patiently waiting for the last four years, but according to The Mirror, in 2015, Bong Bong escaped from Sittisarn’s car at a gas station.

She said, ‘My husband and I traveled all over looking for him, but we did not find him and we did not know where he could be.

Despite the fact that Bong Bong was very eager to meet Sittisarn, he soon discovered—just as Pinnuvech had—that Bong Bong/Leo chose

to stay in the place he had now come to regard as home rather than return as a house pet. Sittisarn was at ease knowing that Pinnuvech was taking good care of Bong Bong.

She stated, ‘I believe she and the dog will be happy together due to her good care of the dog, but I would like her to keep the dog in her house.’
