Now, more than ten years later, Terry Irvine, his wife, has spoken out about something Steve once told her that may come as a shock to some.

Recently, Terry consented to a sit-down interview for the Australian television program ‘Anh’s Brush With Fame,’ but the discussion quickly deviated from its original course.

When asked about Steve’s unexpected passing, Terry replied, ‘He never thought he would have a long life.’

He had always believed that his life would be brief. Unfortunately, Steve’s forecast came true. As ‘Ocean’s Deadliest’

was being filmed in Queensland, Australia, the television personality died by a stingray barb.
Terri was told to get in touch with the zookeeper following the incident.

She remembers when she first found out about her husband’s dying. ‘All I can think of is this strange sense of responsibility and this overwhelming sadness,

followed by the question, ‘What do I do now?’ It was challenging for me to go out to the car and inform Bindi and Robert once I sort of collected my thoughts.

Terri acknowledges that she was taken aback by the outpouring of love after hearing about Steve’s passing.

No one would have been more surprised than Steve by the outpouring of sadness and love, she claimed.

Never once was the word ‘famous’spoken to Steve. We demolished everything we constructed for the wild and are still doing it in terms of things that are preservation,

and I love that about him because he was never pretentious or self-absorbed. I am really proud of it.

The word of Steve’s passing spread fast to millions of people thanks to the world’s media. They were left in

shock by the passing of a cherished national hero who was well-known for his unwavering dedication to advancing animal education and awareness.
