After no customers showed up for his cafe’s opening, a high school graduate faces a heartbreaking setback.

There can be a wide range of feelings associated with high school graduation. While some youngsters worry about the future,

others get a great deal of joy and excitement from finding out what adventure is in store for them.

Some people choose to continue their education by attending college or a trade school, but others discover that it is best for them to just start working at a career they enjoy.

An Australian boy named Tom Oswald built his very own cafe in July 2023. The 18-year-old had recently

finished high school, giving him a head start in establishing himself in the workforce. In the South Australian town of Hahndorf, Oswald established his cafe, Homeboy.

Oswald told news.au.com that he was inspired to create the coffee shop after learning that his ex-neighbor had a store with

enough space for a cafe but no one to manage it. ‘Wasn’t sure if I could run a coffee shop by myself, but wanted to give myself the challenge,’ he said.

Thanks to his understanding parents, Oswald looked for friends and industry counsel. ‘My parents have been incredibly supportive,

and I am extremely grateful for it. I make sure to keep them both occupied so that mum can continue

baking all the brownies and biscuits and dad can continue delivering pastries up to Hahndorf,” Oswald added.

While the adolescent shown remarkable tenacity and promise, his cafe did not appear to be popular

with the locals. In July 2023, Oswald opened the doors to his coffee shop, but nobody came in.

In July 2023, Oswald posted a sorrowful video on TikTok. The text overlay read, ‘Opened a cafe and nobody came.’

Oswald captioned the photo, ‘Still waiting for a customer.’ The adolescent didn’t let the rocky beginning stop him, though.

Oswald told news.com.au, ‘The cafe can get a little quiet at times, but it is something I completely

expect and do not feel depressed about it. ‘Quiet days give me time to reflect and research, and busy days teach me the value of efficiency,’ the adolescent continued.

I’m 18 years old, recently graduated from high school, and I’m currently on a gap year, and I’m working on this project exclusively, according to Oswald.

I’m either working in the shop or working remotely to identify methods to make the company run more smoothly.

Oswald used social media to share his experiences with the harsh realities that new business owners may encounter, such as the regrettable situation of having no customers.

Thank goodness, a lot of individuals on social media urged Oswald to press on and keep pursuing his passion.Oswald gradually began working alongside others, and soon enough, clients began to arrive.

Oswald noted in a little dated Instagram video that the weekdays were initially slow but that things picked up slightly on the weekends in September 2023.

The tiny cafe and the adorable outdoor seating area were very popular. One individual remarked, ‘It looks so lovely.’ Another person exclaimed, ‘I’m so eager to go.’

The adolescent voiced his hopes that Homeboy ‘will be a success” as well as his intention to eventually contribute back to the neighborhood. It’s just one coffee at a time in the interim, he continued.
