Although Jackman and Furness have announced their separation, their love journey started off like something out of a fairytale.

After being cast in ‘Corelli’ in 1995, Jackman and Furness became friends. Furness, who was 13 years older than Jackman at the time,

was already well-known as an actress, which according to the young Jackman initially made him feel somewhat afraid. He said to People

Deb, she was a famous actress. Deb is in the driver’s seat when I’m picked up. I won’t soon forget. I’m Deborra-lee Furness,

good to meet you. She undid her seatbelt, turned around, held out her hand, and removed her sunglasses. I distinctly recall thinking, “I like this chick.

Jackman acknowledged that he fell in love with Furness immediately away. He clarified:
‘My single life was five times worse than it was before I met Deb.

She was incredibly lovely. She had this unrepressible energy and zest that made her a ton of fun. She also had self-confidence. I fell head over heels for her right away.

Initially attempting to deny his crush, Jackman eventually confessed his affections to her after inviting her and several friends over for dinner. He revealed:

‘I noticed you haven’t spoken to me in like a week, what’s going on?’ she said. I confessed,’I have a crush on you.’

I apologize, but I’ll move past it. She replies, ‘Oh? because I also have a crush on you. I never in a million years imagined she would return the favor.

Just one year later, in April 1996, Jackman and Furness married, putting an end to their passionate relationship. When it came to starting a family, the couple would encounter challenges.

In an interview with The Herald Sun in 2011, Jackman was open about his and Furness’s struggle to conceive their own children.

Furness experienced two miscarriages before accepting the truth that they would not have biological children, so things didn’t go as planned.

Despite not considering their children to be adopted, Jackman claimed they nevertheless made the decision to adopt.

‘All the tension vanished the moment we began the adoption procedure. It is obvious that having children biologically was not how we were intended to do it.

There are problems now as we navigate life together, he acknowledged, but everyone is with the right people and in the right location.

Despite the ups and downs in their relationship, Jackman and Furness have decided to end this chapter of their lives. The couple issued a statement on September 15, 2023, that read:

‘We are grateful to have had almost three decades of a lovely, loving marriage as husband and wife. We have

decided to separate in order to pursue our individual growth as our journey is changing right now.

‘Our family has been and always will be our top priority,’ they continued. We begin the following chapter with a spirit of thanks,

love, and kindness. As our family navigates this adjustment in our lives, we sincerely appreciate your understanding and respect for our privacy.

The statement was concluded by Jackman and Furness, who added the phrase ‘This is the only statement either of us will make.’

Since then, a lot of people have bemoaned the fact that Jackman is yet another casualty of 2023’s year of celebrity splits.

Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied, Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello, Reese Witherspoon and

Jim Toth, and Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner are a few notable celebrities who separated this year.

The pair was ‘devastated’ to disclose the news of their breakup, a source told People Magazine.

They carefully thought over all the options and came to this conclusion together; it was not a hasty one.

Although they are embarking on different journeys, they will always be a family. They will always be closest friends and co-parents, the source claimed.

According to insiders, the couple is not resentful or angry with one another.

The insider claims that the only reason for this is that they are currently traveling in opposite directions.

Jackman’s admirers were devastated to see the actor appearing forlorn following the breakup announcement.

The ‘The Greatest Showman’ actor was pictured by Page Six looking ‘sullen’ and ‘ringless.’ The actor

reportedly informed the photographers that he is going through a “difficult time” as he adjusts to the heartbreaking divorce.

On social media, Jackman’s followers shared the same enthusiasm about what they considered to be a powerful partnership.

One fan wrote on Facebook, ‘So sad..i thought they’re couple goals..one of the most well loved Hollywood couple..’

‘Wishing them all the best. No matter who you are, separation is not enjoyable, another person comforted.

‘I’m devastated by the breakup. The only couple I had the impression will be together for the rest of their lives is this one.

Oh my God, I’m so sad, but nothing lasts forever. However, I hope that they continue to be the best of friends,’ a third user wrote on Instagram.
