In order to continue the daily ritual that had allowed her to feel like herself throughout their more

than 50 years of marriage, he made the decision to learn her cosmetics application technique.

Des explained it by saying, ‘I felt the sooner I learnt the better since Mona’s vision is fading and she won’t be able to apply her cosmetics in the future.’

He didn’t simply skim a few YouTube videos, either. Des registered for a few lessons at the adjacent Debenhams department store.

During their session together, Rosie O’Driscoll, a cosmetic artist, visited the elderly couple and demonstrated correct makeup application for Des’ wife.

She stated, ‘I just took up the brushes when we got to the Benefit counter and started asking Rosie to apply her makeup for me. Des stated that Rosie has

been a wonderful friend to them and that they see her every day in order for him to pick up any additional tips that she may have.

They both now see O’Driscoll as a buddy, and not just because they attend makeup classes together. O’Driscoll is rumored to frequently take tea breaks at the Monahans’ house.

They make such a cute couple, and Des enjoyed learning some helpful advice for Mona right away. O’Driscoll

said he felt driven to give Mona any help he could manage since it was clear that she was slowly losing her vision.

I know that applying makeup every morning is not only good for one’s self-esteem but also an enjoyable activity because I work in the cosmetics industry.

We can’t help but giggle when they walk up to the Benefit counter, but our friendship extends beyond Debenhams as well.

Des is now confident enough to beautify her entire face by applying eyeliner, lipstick, and bronzer.

He is knowledgeable about where to apply each application and which brushes to use.

Des is wearing eyeliners and lipsticks that Mona could never imagine wearing herself, she noticed. Des has

taken away my ability to distinguish between different color hues, but at least I know that my makeup will always look amazing.

Des claims that he has reached the point where he is so skilled at applying makeup that he might be able to teach others how to do it.

He is starting to become aware of a lot of recent information. You can’t let him know that sometimes he uses a little bit more force than is necessary.

O’ Driscoll claimed that he feels like he is fully aware of everything.Des is experimenting with a

range of various appearances in addition to his new routine since he is not content to stick with it.Additionally, he favors the use of specific tools and products.

‘He seems to be obsessed with the brows,’ O’Driscoll remarked. He now writes with pencils rather than pens. He likes how Mona looks with the pencil in her hand.
