I feel myself really fortunate to have grown up in the same house with my siblings when I think back on my upbringing.
Playing with my siblings occupied a significant portion of my childhood; even our disagreements and sporadic battles have left me with vivid memories that I now cherish.
I’m also conscious that not everyone has the pleasure of living with all of their siblings under one roof.

When their parents part ways, it can sometimes result in the separation of siblings. Other times, albeit certainly more uncommon and intense.
Just ask Jennifer and Kathleen, two UK twins who were split apart at birth after their mother was forced to make an incredibly difficult choice.
The amazing tale of Jennifer and Kathleen began more than 60 years ago when their biological mother, an unmarried single woman, became pregnant.
The young woman, according to sources, already had a son and resided with her parents. She had to make a choice that no mother should ever have to when she had a set of twin girls.
She was unable to bring her children home due to severe financial hardships and societal issues of the time.
As luck would have it, a woman who lived two doors down the street adopted Jennifer. While this was happening, Kathleen relocated a few miles away.

However, the twins were unaware of this, thus despite growing up in the same little area of the planet Rotherham, South Yorkshire,
England they were unaware of how near they were to one another at all times. The twins reportedly even went to the same dentist!
Naturally, Jennifer had known her biological mother since she was a young child, despite being told that she was a close family
friend by the name of ‘Eva’. We can only imagine how shocking it must have been when a cousin told her the truth when she was just 11 years old.
While Kathleen thought she was the lone child, Jennifer was at least partially aware of this.
That is, until she was contacted by the British television program Long Lost Family. The purpose of the program is
to bring together long-lost relatives who have never met. They felt they had to step in as soon as they heard Jennifer and Kathleen’s tale.
In 2010, Kathleen first heard from Long Lost Family, beginning a journey that would lead the now-66-year-old woman to learn the truth about her ancestry and identity.
Amazingly, after six decades, Jennifer and Kathleen were reunited, and they hit it off immediately away.
The twins not only realized they shared many traits right away, but they also resolved to make up for lost time.
The women have seen one other on a regular basis ever since they first met, whether it be for a casual coffee date or to go shopping.
Additionally, they enjoy holidays with their individual families. Kathleen’s son talks about how being reunited with her sister has given her new life.
‘I’ve given Kath a lot of thought because I knew she was not alone. Meeting her was wonderful, Kathleen told Caters Clips.
