A woman who is 104 years old breaks the record for the oldest person to ever skydive.

One of the worst things I can imagine is the idea of jumping out of a plane with nothing but a parachute to save me.

But for this centenarian, who broke the record for the oldest individual to participate in a skydiving excursion, it’s a piece of cake.

Most people find it difficult to face their concerns, especially when they relate to an intense sport.

Dorothy Hoffner, a remarkable 104-year-old woman, did this incredible achievement without a hitch, though.

Dorothy, a native of northern Illinois, set off on a quest that would make history remember her. She was headed for the skies,

where the daring centenarian planned to shatter all previous records. In order to do this, she had to board a plane that would soar to a terrifying 13,500 feet in the air.

When Dorothy got the signal that it was time to jump, the crucial moment arrived. She bravely leaped from the plane while being

safely strapped to her dependable dive instructor, speeding through the air at breakneck speed for a few thrilling seconds until the parachute opened.

Once again touching down on the earth at Skydive Chicago in Ottawa, Dorothy couldn’t contain her joy and proudly yelled, ‘Age is just a number.’

She became instantly renowned among the gathering throng who were admiring her from below due to her fortitude and determination.

When Dorothy finally reached the ground, her family and friends gave her hugs. She then seized her red walker and started to walk back.

Dorothy couldn’t help but express her whole joy as she thought back on the remarkable event, saying: ‘It was wonderful up there. Everything about it was amazing, wonderful, and perfect.

A Guinness World Records official certification of Dorothy Hoffner’s record-breaking leap is currently being sought by the Skydive Chicago
team.

The previous record was held by 103-year-old Swedish woman Linnéa Ingegärd Larsson, who bravely leaped out of an airplane in May 2022.

Dorothy is not even close to stopping and is anticipating her 105th birthday in December. In fact, she is planning a brand-new excursion that will involve flying in a hot air balloon.
