A six-member family transforms a 40-foot school bus into their residence and gives visitors a tour of it.

Imagine living in a world where the open road is your backyard and there are always new vistas to discover.

Discover AJ, John, and their four active kids, who converted a 40-foot school bus into a cozy mobile home.

John has transformed the bus into a paradise that can hold six people and a variety of aspirations because to his keen sense of design and talent in woodworking.

A cleverly created pull-out bed allows the comfortable living area, which includes a U-shaped sofa and hidden storage areas, to also be used as the parents’ bedroom.

However, they are more inventive than that. The family’s electrical system displays modern wonders.

Containers of spices and grains, many of which were grown on their former farm, are proudly displayed on open shelf.

They decided against using a traditional stove in favor of an induction cooktop and an air fryer because of their propensity for electrical appliances.

Even the sink has a light that adapts to the temperature of the water and adds a whimsical element to the functional space.

Their decisions reflect a commitment to sustainability.

Instead of using the more widely used Berkey system for water filtering, they’ve opted for an Eco filter that was a gift from John’s aunt.

Every drop of water they drink will be clean thanks to this filter, which is prominently displayed on the kitchen counter.

The choice to adopt the bus lifestyle was not made on the spur of the moment; eight years prior,

they thought about making the change but decided to stay on their farm in order to give their young children a secure environment.

From their former arrangement, which consisted of a communal family bed at their farmhouse, the sleeping quarters are very different.

The bus’s outside is just as functional as its interior, including two LP tanks for outdoor cooking,

125 gallons of fresh water, and 75 gallons of gray water. The presence of security cameras improves their safety and gives the family confidence as they explore new areas.

AJ and John are considering building another bus or possibly providing specialized constructions for other people as they consider the future.
