Krieger attributes the concept to her dad. She explained to Good Morning America, ‘When we were deciding on what dances we were gonna do,

we were like, there’s no way that we can do just a slow song because we’re gonna cry the entire time

and that’s uncomfortable for me and for all the guests, so my dad actually bought up the idea.’

He gave his reasoning by stating, ‘I thought about it. I suggested that instead of doing the traditional ‘daddy’s little girl dance,’

The daughter described her father as someone she was ‘very close’ to. She said that for eight to nine months leading up to the wedding, they practiced once per week.
