One day after Suzanne Somers passed away, her family commemorated what would have been her 77th birthday.
Around a birthday cake with candles and a ‘Happy Birthday’ song for the late matriarch, her husband Alan Hamel and son Bruce Somers Jr. joined other family members.
The heartfelt homage was posted Monday night to Somers’ official Instagram.

One day before her 77th birthday on Sunday, October 15, the Step by Step diva passed away.
She endured an aggressive form of breast cancer for more than 23 years, according to a statement from her longtime publicist R. Couri Hay.
‘Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family,’ the statement said.
On October 16, her family came together to celebrate her 77th birthday. Instead, they will honor her exceptional life and express their gratitude to all of her countless admirers.
Despite the solemn occasion, Hamel, 87, revealed to People that he and approximately 12 other people celebrated Somers’ life.
‘We really toasted Suzanne last night when there were, I believe, 12 of us there. We’ll definitely get something done today.
We’ll definitely get something done today. I’m not sure what it will be, but it will probably entail a lot of cake because Suzanne loved cake.

A touching video of the celebration was taken and posted on the actor’s social media.
‘I appreciate all the love and support you have shown Suzanne. How can you help our family? That is a question that many of you have asked.
The caption stated, ‘The most consoling act for us is to learn how Suzanne influenced all of your lives.
