Homeowner discovers a secret entrance in his new residence, and what he finds inside is really amazing.

We enthusiastically entertained the creations of our mind for a large portion of our childhood.

I mean, I can’t even begin to count the number of times I’ve claimed to have discovered a magical door that was hidden from view and could only guess where it headed,

or how many times I’ve imagined myself in a fantastical setting while strolling through the nearby woods.

The more imaginative aspects of our wandering brain often disappear as we grow older, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still fascinating things to discover in our surroundings.

Ask the man who discovered a secret trapdoor in the floor of a new home he purchased in the UK eleven years ago, which led to a chamber he was unaware of.

I guess I can speak for many when I say that it’s kind of exciting to think that a house we recently bought might have a secret entrance or space.

Sadly, we usually get what we pay for, so when moving day arrives, there aren’t many, if any, surprises.

But that doesn’t mean they never do.

When a newlywed was given the keys to his new house, he was shocked to discover a trapdoor leading to a hidden man cave below ground!

The residence in issue was formerly a portion of an English abbey from the 19th century, claims Bored Panda.

The building and its surroundings were eventually transformed into 30 contemporary apartments, one of which was bought by the protagonist of this tale.

He seemed to have gotten a terrific deal on the flat in addition to the added benefit of a secret chamber he was unaware of!

There was a handle on the floor in front of the bathroom door that led to another section under the floors.

The entrance appears to go only to a small storage area at first glance. However, when the man descended the stone steps into the shadows, he discovered something very different.

It turns out the area was much larger than he had thought, but it still looks more like a medieval dungeon than a cellar or additional living quarters.

Nevertheless, a number of concerns are raised, not the least of which is what the region might have been used for in the past.
